Tooth root resection

Root tip resection is a surgical treatment for persistent inflammation at the root of a tooth. The affected part of the root and the inflamed tissue are removed to save the tooth when conventional endodontic treatment is not sufficient or cannot be repeated.

Preserving your own tooth — surgical treatment can delay or eliminate extraction.

Resolving inflammation at the root — removal of the infected tip and surrounding tissues.

Microsurgical approach — targeted treatment of a small area.

Local anesthesia — a comfortable procedure without general anesthesia.

Stages of work

01 — Consultation and initial examination

02 — 3D diagnostics and precise planning of the procedure

03 — Local anesthesia and preparation of the surgical field

04 — Removal of the affected part of the root and the root canal

05 — Checking healing and removing stitches as needed

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • For swelling, apply a cold compress externally at short intervals.
  • Clean the surgical site gently and do not irritate the wound.
  • Take prescribed medications exactly as directed by your doctor.
  • Come for your scheduled check-up even if the symptoms subside.

Treatment result

Before treatment

A persistent deposit at the root tip may remain even after previous root canal treatment.

After treatment

The affected tip and inflammatory tissue are removed in order to preserve the tooth itself.
